HAVE YOU FINISHED YOUR TAXES YET?

Now that we are down to the wire for this April 15th and you probably have good numbers ready, try out Marlene Tobin's FairTax Calculator at www.fairtaxcalculator.org

You can readily determine your effective tax rate.

After that, find the petition and sign that, to show your support for the FairTax.

After that, "read The FairTax Book" or go to www.fairtax.org and read the basics of the FairTax. Or check out my earlier blogs for shorter explanations of the FairTax.

Write or call your Senators and Representatives in Congress to ask their support for the FairTax.

We FairTax supporters need to do all of this, frequently, to show we are serious about Congress changing the tax code to save our economy, social security, medicare and US.

Im against the Fairtax if you don't grant exemptions for medical costs.

Whats fair about hitting some unlucky family who has very high medical cost, with a very high sales tax?

Im very lucky so far, knock on wood. My kids and I have never had to spend hardly anything on medical care. But many people do.

Many people get cancer, or have other horrible diseases or accidents and spend a small fortune on medical costs, lab work, surgery, second opinions, recovery.

How is that "voluntary"? Supposedly the fair tax was voluntary cause you got to choose if you paid it or not. Not anything voluntary about an operation to remove a brain tumor, or radiation or whatever.

But thats taxed under fairtax.

So unless they can fix that, I'm against it.

And I think when most people realize they would have to pay this very high sales tax on not just medical cost -- but gasoline, utlity bills, even their car insurance -- they will have second thoughts about fairtax, as I have.
